Our Mission

Leslie’s Haven provides financial, emotional, and spiritual support to young women, especially those under 40, undergoing breast cancer treatment. We partner with the community to ease the burden of rising medical costs, recognizing the aggressive impact breast cancer has on African American women. Our mission is to help patients focus on healing, not bills, during one of the most challenging times of their lives.

Leslie’s mission was to love life and share her faith in God’s grace.

About Leslie

Leslie Renee Russell was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022. Her earthly body ultimately surrendered to the disease, however, her spirit remained unbowed. She battled cancer with grace, leaning on principles of sisterhood and service to sustain her during the ups and downs of chemotherapy. Even on her lowest days, she never missed an opportunity to uplift and be there for someone else. Leslie’s journey is a reflection of faith, fortitude, and community, and we hope to carry this spirit on through Leslie’s Haven.
